ABSTRACT MOVIE is a video created by Arthur P. Bollon, Ph.D., consisting of a series of abstract, digital paintings which evolve through animation, from a minimalistic origin to increased complexity, reflecting the evolution of complexity manifest in various components of the Universe. An integral part of the work is music specifically composed for the evolving paintings. Each digital painting was progressively modified and saved as a separate file and entered into an animation program. The music was composed in parallel with the evolving paintings, starting with a modified 12 tone structure, evolving to a jazz motif which develops, through counterpoint, to a complexity in parallel with the paintings. As indicated in the Bio section, Artist, Composer and Scientist, Arthur P. Bollon, Ph.D., has produced paintings in oil and watercolor as well as de novo digital art and has a strong music composition background. In addition, he has a Ph.D. in molecular genetics and has directed research in cancer and neurodegenerative diseases where he has used the computer for extensive DNA analysis. Such DNA analysis influenced his idea of merging his Art and Music via the Computer, resulting in Abstract Movie. It is unique in that he alone has created the Art, Music and Integration into a cohesive work of art, representing the Convergence (Synesthesia) of the various disciplines of his creative life.
